The steps and moves are choreographed by professionals so that you can learn all of the hottest steps in rock, pop, hip hop and more. Just Dance 2 will probably have you moving like never before, and will certainly get your party started, and will keep it going.

Ballet Dancing and Dealing With Dance Injuries

Even the most careful ballet dancers can get dance injuries, but fortunately our bodies have the remarkable capacity to heal themselves. The main thing is to see a doctor if something is really painful, swollen, or you suspect a fracture or other serious damage.

If is difficult sometimes to rely on instinct on how much you can safely attempt when you have a dance injury, so rather check with your doctor or physical therapist. At times you may need to rest and at other times you may just need to modify your routine. It is always best to avoid aggravating a dance injury, no matter how minor it may seem.

Just Dance

Many sports medicine experts recommend RICE (rest, ice, compression, elevation) to minimise swelling and pain when you have a dance injury.

Rest:
The body is normally good at healing itself, but it will need lots of rest in order to do this. The moment you feel an injury coming on rest. In this way you will be less likely to further stress the damaged body part. Rather do isometric exercises and take a doctors advice, than go back to heavy classes and schedules too soon.

Ice:
If ice is applied immediately to the injury, it is effective in reducing swelling and pain of a soft tissue injury. Use crushed ice in a dish towel, or even a bag of frozen peas. Just keep the ice on the injury long enough to be effective, and not so long as to cause discomfort or frost bite. In the hours after the injury has occurred use ice on and off for about twenty minutes at a time. Make sure to cover the entire area and protect you skin with a damp cloth. Ice should be used frequently for the first three to five days after the injury several times a day, and then decreased to once or twice a day after activity or exercise.

Compression:
Compression is another way to reduce swelling, and you can do this with an elastic wrap. Make sure that the pressure is applied evenly and it should feel comfortable and not too tight. If your skin turns red or white at the edges of the compression, then it is too tight. Use the wrap until the swelling goes down, or until it is more bothersome than helpful.

Elevation:
If you elevate the injury, this will also reduce swelling. Try to raise the injury above heart level as much as possible. Elevation is also important as you sleep, and you should keep elevating for as long as there is swelling.

Some physical therapists add a P in front of RICE, to make the word PRICE. The P stands for protection in the form of slings, braces, splints, crutches or taping, which all help to prevent further dance injuries.

Salsa! That sizzling hot dance certainly caught your attention. Like other Latin dances, its hip motion and sensual bodily movements are simply an attraction. The dance itself is a reflection of its literal meaning. The word "salsa" is Spanish for sauce. Like sauce which is a mixture of many ingredients and which comes in many kinds, the Salsa dance is also a fusion of many musical influences that are African and European in origin. Its many styles can be attributed to how it is developed in many places. In this sense, the modern salsa can be categorized as New York, Cubano or Casino, Los Angeles, Cumbia or Cali, etc. based on its place of development. However, credit goes to Puerto Rico and Cuba who both claim to start this particular dance fever.

Salsa is never boring as it can be danced in many ways. It can be performed and accepted as a single or individual performance. It can also be danced by pair, by group or by having pairings within the group. Its basic steps just follow two movements - forward and backward directions with both partners constantly encircling each other. Tapping and rocking of the feet, dipping, turning, and other movements must be strictly in synced with particular beats. Many dance studios can teach you to dance Salsa like a pro. Familiarizing yourself with its many styles is a good way to start. New York, Cubano or Casino, Los Angeles, among others, are distinct for their dancing emphases and strong accent for certain beats. Knowing the basic steps would certainly allow you to learn these different styles with less difficulty.

Don't you hate going to a party and being the one who doesn't know how to dance? Well it's time to kick the shyness and learn how to dance duranguense! Duranguense gained popularity during the early 2000s and continues to top the Regional Mexican music charts to this day. Duranguense is a very fast and driven dance so find a song you like (Por Tu Amor - Alacranes Musical) and let's get to learning.

The fun part is that you can dance duranguense by yourself of with a partner. We will start by dancing by ourselves. Simply stand as you normally would and move your hips to the beat. Your feet should take a quick step each time your hips move to one side and another step when they move to the other side. You can find the beat by listening to the bass, which is the low pitched sound that you will hear bouncing back and forth. Your body will almost feel like it is doing the same thing. Some people hold their arms lower and more relaxed, but most usually hold them up at their sides or at their chest.

Just Dance

When dancing with a partner you must be aware of the different roles that guys and girls play. Guys will be the leaders. The couple will hold hands, usually the guy's left and the girl's right but it doesn't really matter. The guy will have his other arm wrapped around her back and near her waist, while the girl will have her unoccupied hand or arm on the guy's shoulder.

A lot of beginners say the hardest part is staying on beat late into the song when you might be tired and lose your rhythm. Only with practice can you pick up the skill of always staying on beat at such a fast tempo.

Guys remember you are the leader so be sure to take your girl around at a smooth and comfortable pace. Girls you get the easy part and just follow his lead.

Dancing on pointe is a relatively new development and further. So last night my husband and I were playing for the first time Just Dance. It 'was pretty late at night and I was like that for the first song that I was tired on the couch. My husband flipped through the songs until he got to Cotton-Eye Joe, I could see the gleam in his eyes and I knew something big was about to witness. I wish I was sitting next to a camera, this was the funniest thing I've ever seen and I have no doubt that this video would have to stopWars.

To see how much fun it was I came second in the dance, and uses one of the features that this game is dancing on Broadway, not an option to play fast and we danced to "That's how I like" KC and The Sunshine Band, but it was ended too quickly. We played again and this time we went to release the full year, I found it difficult after the character neon and I always found slightly disturbing and I would say that the background of danceBroadway is much nicer than the background level in Just Dance.

Gameplay

Dance Paradise is designed to measure players' ability to perform queued dance moves, but unlike other dance games which deal in simple directional movement, detailed accuracy is key here. This is made possible through the real-time motion capture abilities of Kinect. Gameplay in Dance Paradise is based around the game's four color-coded dance lanes. As music tracks and videos run in the background and your Xbox LIVE avatar cheers you on from themed game environments, two-dimensional representations of the dance move you are to mimic slide down the dance lanes towards you in a conveyer belt fashion at the center of the screen. In the few seconds that it takes for these representations to reach the bottom front of the screen they have repeated the move several times. At the end of each lane is a virtual dance pad, which when reached by the two-dimensional figure is your queue to mimic the dance move. A variety of the possible moves slide down all four lanes with players hopping laterally to adjacent dance pads to unleash their versions of them. Moves are rated in real-time and proceed in rhythm with the track. Successful moves fill the player's in-game vitality bar, while unsuccessful attempts subtract from it. Your game ends if the bar is completely drained.

Play Modes

Dance Paradise features multiple game modes in both single player and multiplayer. Single player modes include: Free Play, in which you can queue up the tracks you want and dance away to your heart's content; Training Mode where you can practice the individual moves that you will see in in-game action; and Career Mode - 6 progressive game levels, each of which contain specific challenges that must be met before you can move on to the next. Two player multiplayer modes include: Attack mode, a mode in which after filling their vitality bars players can unleash power-ups that throw off the dance moves of opponents; Versus mode, where players dance off to the same tracks with the winner being the most accurate; and Synchro mode, a cooperative play option where two players must dance in synch to the same track and moves.

SingStar Dance for PlayStation 3 is a unique extension of the SingStar music gaming experience that adds dance gameplay to the familiar karaoke-like performance action that the franchise is famous for. Dance activities utilize Sony's PlayStation Move motion controller and PlayStation Eye camera combination to replicate precisely choreographed routines on-screen, while singing gameplay uses standard USB microphones compatible with the PS3. SingStar Dance is tailor-made for all you dancing machines and pop stars in the making. Utilizing the fun, new PlayStation Move motion controller and PlayStation Eye peripheral combination, along with traditional compatible USB microphones* used in previous SingStar games, SingStar Dance adds a whole new performance aspect to the SingStar experience by allowing players to dance as well as sing along to your favorite chart hits all within the same game. The game supports up to four players, with either one or two of these singing via a USB microphones, as the remaining players use PlayStation Move motion controllers to dance along to fully choreographer routines developed for the same song. The game contains over 50 audio/video tracks by original artists. These are all move-enabled, with the progress of singing players tracked on-screen via a familiar tablature notation, while dancing players have their own tablature, as well as a silhouette that mimics the motions picked up by the controller-camera peripheral pairing. Additional functionality includes new dance tracks downloadable via the SingStore and the ability to upload your video performances to My SingStar Online.

PlayStation Move Motion Controller and PlayStation Eye
Equipped with a three axis gyroscope, a three axis accelerometer and terrestrial magnetic field sensor, the PlayStation Move motion controller tracks the precise movements and the angle of the controller, while the PlayStation Eye camera, aimed at the player, allows the PS3 system to detect the absolute position of the controller, and thus to a large extent the player, in 3D space. Together this facilitates the highly sensitive movement tracking and intuitive gameplay that gives the impression that the player is actually physically within the game. The PlayStation Move motion controller also features the familiar PlayStation controller button orientation, for seamless play from the very first use.

Dedicated to providing a richer, deeper gaming experience, the development team behind Just Dance 2 has included four new dance modes. These include:

Duet Mode

Created to foster more interaction between players, Duet Mode allows players to dance together, and in the process forces them to pay more attention to the players around them instead of simply following on-screen prompts.

Dance Battle Mode

Dance Battle Mode is a team mode that features up to 8-player support. Although individual scores are the basis of the overall team scores, the extreme multiplayer basis of the mode changes what can be the individual nature of dance into something very different.

Gameplay

Just as in earlier releases in the franchise, DanceDanceRevolution is a multiplayer Dance / Music / Rhythm hybrid game based on the original Japanese arcade classic of the same name. The game is packed with a blend of licensed popular and classic dance tracks, as well as tracks created especially for the game by game developer and publisher, Konami. The player's goal is to keep time with the precise rhythm of each track as they are on queued by on-screen arrows that scroll up the game screen from the bottom. The top of the screen is the "step zone" - four static arrows pointing left, down, up and right. As the scrolling arrows pointing in one of these directions makes contact with like arrows in the step zone players indicate the correct direction and duration, again in time with the song. The more accurate you are in doing this, the more points you score, with even more points available as simultaneous arrow combinations occur. Success also maintains your life bar, while a poor performance decreases it, eventually leading to the end of your turn if the bar is entirely depleted.

Typically rhythm input is done with your feet using the DanceDanceRevolution dance pad controller - included with this bundle, but DanceDanceRevolution for PlayStation 3 also includes support for the PlayStation Move control system (components sold separately). The integration of PlayStation Move allows for several unique features, for example, Dance Off Mode which, via the Move system's PlayStation Eye camera, allows players to take turns dancing to the game's iconic scrolling arrow queues, with the winner receiving the most points. In standard play players can combine the Move Motion controller and the dance pad allowing for a dancer's steps and their upper body to get into the game. The PlayStation Eye camera also allows for the creation of videos that can be shared via YouTube and Facebook. Another piece of functionality players will enjoy is Club Mode, which allows you to string together from 4 - 20 tracks, back-to-back. This eliminates load time between track, keeping the high-energy action going while you knock off combos that unleash point multipliers. Additional features include: unlockable tracks, motivational challenges, tutorials and the improved graphic quality PlayStation 3 is famous for.
